Abstract

Education in Indonesia has now entered the industrialization space, so the concept of education only relies on rational-empirical aspects. This paper tries to find out the nature of the educational concept taught by HOS Tjokroaminoto alias Pak Tjokro to produce in the years of his struggle or after words. The method used is the study of literature and reading the history of education from the 19th century to the 21st century. The results of analyzing education in this world both in the west and the east, it turns out that education does not only reach the awareness process, but further must be in accordance with the values surrounding community and or the wider scope, based on nationality and religiosity.
