This study aims to uncover the relationship between knowledge and power in Islamic boarding schools. This knowledge is tracked by identifying various media. In addition, this study also reveals how the motive power of the pesantren on the students themselves. This study uses a genealogical research approach and qualitative research methods. The geneology approach used refers to the ideas of Michel Foucault. The results of this study are the discovery of the methods of power possessed by pesantren in the submission of santri. These methods include santri jails, social sanctions, sanctions issued from pesantren, and others, which aim to create a self-regulated body of santri.
